There are many different types of psychotherapy and it can be hard to tell them apart or know which is the best kind for you.
My core qualifications are in Integrative Psychotherapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Integrative psychotherapy means taking what works best from of a whole range of therapeutic methods and integrating them into the most effective method possible. Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is just one part of that integrated method: it involves looking at the different, often conflicting unconscious drives that compel you to feel or behave in certain ways, and learning to overcome them by being aware of them.
Over the years I have discovered further techniques that really help my clients and I have added them to the way I work. In particular, I work with the principles and techniques of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and with Mindfulness.
For me, a fundamental part of the work is discovering together who you want to be and what really matters to you.
